A wonderful primitive village rug from what I think came from one of the villages in NW old Persia. Excellent condition with old vegetable dyes, medium pile, and no stains, repairs, damage, or other issues. Circa first half of the 20th C., the size is 4.7 x 6.3. Some of the features that make this such a special rug is the weaver (a woman) who knotted this rug did so from memory, no chart or picture. She started weaving from the top and proceeded down but at some point, realized she was running out of loom. She cut the center design off at the bottom and proceeded to completion. Also note that the small animals and other design elements are placed randomly which again shows that it was created as the weaving went. I and other rug connoisseurs love the originality and beauty of rugs like this. This would make a great wall hanging or in a special place in your home. Antiques rugs like this rarely become available and I am delighted to offer it to my customers. The cost is a bit high but I had to pay to pry it away from the seller, but still way below retail. $795 T-214
