A really incredible antique Persian Tabriz carpet Circa 1890. The design is based on the Ardibil Mosque Carpet woven in 1524-1576 which is displayed in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
This carpet was woven for the Persian market, not an export piece. Using the finest Kork wool, natural dyes, and incredible fine knotting the beauty of the carpet is stunning. It has that old-world design and look that is the epitome of Persian rug weaving. The size is 9.8 x 12.7. Woven by a master weaver this is stunning! Beautiful condition with full even pile and no damage. It was cherished and well taken care of in Iran for many decades. The photos do not begin to do it justice.
