Antique and New Hand Knotted Rugs in Excellent Condition at Warehouse Prices
Persian Shiraz Village Oriental Rug V-299
A beautiful Persian Shiraz with a wool pie on a woolen warp and weft foundation. Circa 1970, the size is 6.6 x 9.9 and is like new condition.
The women who wove these rugs create the designs from memory using traditional colors and design elements of that tribe/village. They will express themselves individually by incorporating small features like flowers, animals, people, and other items that they like and are familiar with so no two rugs are ever the same. These are rare to find today and especially in such fine condition. Original works of art to be cherished and admired every day.
Located in South Central Iran in the Fars Providence, these nomadic rugs are almost always geometrical in style. Patterns tend to be small medallions or geometric figures scattered across the rugs. Strong reds and brown are the most typical color of Shiraz rugs, they are extremely hard wearing and compliment wooden floors well. The average knot count is around 120 KPSI. V-299 Wholesale $795
