One of the finest Persian carpets, this Qom (Qum, Gum, Ghom) is a magnificent example of weavers art. Circa 1950-60, the size is 6.5 x 9.6 and has very fine knotting. The field represents paradise with flowers, flowering vines in a garden scene. All the landscape features that were taught would be awaiting the faithful in Paradise. The light ivory field with blue trim and a contrasting border is stunning, a real treat for the eyes. The knotting is very, very fine which allows for small, detailed designs. The condition is like new.
The beauty of Persian carpets is timeless and never goes out of fashion. This will be enjoyed for generations to come. Persian Carpets are the original that others copy and are appreciated and valued worldwide.
