Persian Nomadic Rug Q-139

A Qashqai nomad rug Circ. 1935 in good antique condition with no repairs, damage or issues.  The size is 5.3 x 8.10 and uses natural dyes and all-wool construction from the sheep of the family who knotted the rug.  This is a beautiful example of tribal or primitive weaving with antique colors and a terrific design. Use in a limited traffic area or as a wall hanging.  It spent its life in the remote outback of Fars Providence and now ready to provide beauty to your home.  You will be buying a piece of art and of history long past.   Price is $525

The Qashqai people live around southern Isfahan, and especially around the cities of Shiraz and Firuzabad in Fars. The majority of Qashqai people were originally nomadic pastoralists and some remain so today. The traditional nomadic Qashqai travelled with their flocks twice yearly to and from the summer highland pastures north of Shiraz roughly 300 miles south to the winter pastures on lower (and warmer) lands near the Persian Gulf, to the southwest of Shiraz. The majority, however, have now become partially or wholly sedentary.
