This vintage Nain Oriental rug is a rare find. The Nain or Naeen style of rugs became popular in the 19th century and is known for its fine quality. Hand-knotted in Iran, circa 1930s, by a master weaver, this rug showcases extremely fine knotting and a skillful use of color. Highlights include intricate flower and vine design motifs that cover almost the entirety of the rug’s surface. It all surrounds a beautiful center medallion against an ivory ground. The muted border also features elegant floral and vine motifs providing balance that demonstrate the rug’s heritage and craftsmanship. Its classic design will add an old world elegance to both traditional and modern interiors. This rug is in excellent condition with some spots of subtle wear, which is depicted in the photos and is normal for a rug of this age. It is likely due to being in storage as the rug is otherwise in like-new condition.
