Persian Mahal Oriental Rug 10 x 13 M-449
Actual size 9.6 x 12.9. From the town of Mahal in NW Iran (Old Persia), It dates to the 1960s, has a full, even wool pile and is in mint condition. This has an allover design with incredible details. Having an allover design makes placement in a room much easier vs a center medallion which most Mashads have. The pile is Kork wool from lambs famed for its softness and durability. It is clean and with no repairs, damage, or issues. A really beautiful example of the weaver’s art very finely knotted, around 200 knots PSI. The natural dye colors have aged to a really nice, muted patina. The design and colors are magnificent, beautiful and this will certainly be the focal point in any room. Carpets of this fineness, colors, condition, and beauty seldom surface now but it’s what I and my buyer’s agent strive to find. A great find at a really great price. $2850 Retail $8K or higher M-449
