Brand new Persian Bidjar, the hand knotted rugs synonymous with the best Iran has to offer and this is an example of the best of the Bidjars.  The size is 8.2 x 11.0 and has very, very fine knotting (over 350 knots psi), exquisite details in the design and a heavy, dense pile making this the finest of the Bidjars. These rugs are special woven making them much heavier than any other rug of the same size and pile height.  This is woven using a depressed warp plus the “wet warp” technique, totally unique to the Bidjars.  The makes the knots so tightly packed they are called the “Iron rugs” and cannot be folded, but must be rolled in transport.  The Mahi diamond design is a signature and favorite of Bidjar designs along with the dark rich colors.  Is considered as a Man’s rug, ideal for dens, offices, libraries, or anywhere a geometric design is needed.   I have no finer rug to offer to someone who wants the best, the best of the Persian carpets.  My wholesale price is on special for $5100 and the retail for this Bidjar will be $12-15K or more.
