This beautiful Tabriz has an incredible 500 knots psi.  Very few of these high-quality rugs are knotted today due to the long weaving time and cost.  It can only be made by one weaver, a master, because he must have the same consistent “hand” or pressure applied when beating down the weft after each row of knots. The rows of knots must be straight throughout the entire rug to accommodate the fineness of the design.  This rug took almost three years to make.  It was woven in the 1990s but kept wrapped and never walked on, kept in a private collection and in new condition in all regards.  The intricacy of the design is astounding!  The fineness of the knotting allows for such minute detail it truly is a work of art.  The beautiful design is a classical center medallion Tabriz but taken to the highest level.  Anyone privileged enough to own such a wonderful carpet will be able to enjoy it every day for a lifetime.
