From the town of Mashad in NE Iran (Old Persia), it is from the 1930’s and has medium even wool pile and is in excellent condition. Clean and with no repairs or damage. The exact size is 9.11 x 13.1. A really beautiful example of the weaver’s art, very finely knotted and signed Amoghli Mohammad Mashad (Mohammad Amoghli of Mashad). The colors have muted with age to a most wonderful antique patina.
The all-over design is magnificent, really beautiful and this will certain be the focal point in any room. Carpets of this fineness, antique colors, condition, and beauty seldom surface but it’s what I and my buyers agent strive to find. A great find at a really great price. $1995 Retail $3.5-4.5K M-234
