This wonderful rug was made in the early 1900s in one of the Qashqai villages by a semi-nomadic people around the mountains of Qashqai. The wool is from their own sheep and it has an excellent all wool pile. It has old vegetable dyes that have aged to a wonderful patina and are in excellent condition with no stains, repairs, or other issues. The size is 5.6 x 8.2. The women who wove these rugs used a ground loom and create the designs from memory using traditional colors and design elements of that tribe. They will express themselves individually by incorporating small features like flowers, animals, people, and other items that they like and are familiar with so no two rugs are ever the same. These are rare to find today and especially in such fine condition. Original works of art from the distant past to be cherished and admired every day. Q-290 $850.
