A really beautiful antique Nomadic piece, size 4.9 x 6.7 in excellent condition. Circa 1850 – 1890, it has natural dyes on hand-spun wool with medium pile. It’s hard to find old pieces that that have this great colors and design and in this good original condition….maybe one in a thousand but that is what I search for. The dyes are all natural and the blue shows Abrash which clearly indicates the wool was died in small lots. The woman who wove this rug did so from memory, using colors and designs indigenous to her tribe but creating the designs as she went along, truly freehand, and not from a pattern. A true and beautiful “Primitive” weaving from the NW region of Iran (old Persia). This spent its life in Iran carefully cared for and is now here ready to grace someone’s home for another 100 years. $675 V-436
